AUTOMATIC WELDING HEADS

FOR AUTOMATIC OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC CAPACITOR DISCHARGE AND ARC WELDING

Automatic stud welding heads are used when the welding of studs, pins, bushes and similar metal components needs to become a consistent part of an automated production process. Depending on the application, they can be integrated into CNC welding systems, robotic cells, fixed welding stations or conventional equipment, supporting capacitor discharge, short-arc and drawn-arc welding processes.

The right welding head depends on much more than the welding process alone. Stud dimensions, base material, sheet thickness, component geometry, production volume and the required level of automation all influence the configuration. For automated production, the stud can be supplied through a VBZ automatic feeding system; where a fully automated cycle is not required, the head can also be used in a semi-automatic setup with manual stud loading by the operator.

Different head configurations are available for different production requirements. Depending on the model, features such as stud presence detection, controlled head movement, adjustable stroke and mechanical adjustment of the contact parameters can help maintain a stable and repeatable welding cycle. This is particularly relevant in industrial applications where process consistency and reliable positioning are essential over large production runs.

ATS Lamberti supplies automatic welding heads and provides technical advice to help customers select the most suitable solution for their application. The assessment takes into account the welding technology, stud or component to be welded, material, dimensions, feeding arrangement and existing equipment. ATS can support both new installations and the integration of welding heads into existing CNC, robotic and automated systems.

For manufacturers, system integrators and industrial users looking for a reliable automatic stud welding solution, ATS combines product supply with application-focused technical support. From selecting the appropriate head through to integration and after-sales assistance, ATS Lamberti helps customers identify a practical solution suited to their welding process and production requirements.
