Spot or projection resistance welding

A.T.S. offers a complete range of spot and projection resistance welding machines used in metal carpentry, sheet metal working and various industrial applications.

Among the proposals of A.T.S. we can find the Column rocker arm or linear action spot welders, spot and projection bench welding machines, suspended welders or portable welders as well as a series of resistance welding components used by integrators.

In addition to this A.T.S. also offers inverter welding machines for resistance welding, technological solutions derived from continuous development to obtain the best results in aluminum welding.

To complete the range there are Tecna Balancers, often called Weight Balancers or Spring Balancers, useful to lighten the workload and to safely handle heavy loads.

Resistance welding is a welding process that uses the heat generated by the electrical resistance of the material to be welded to create a permanent joint.

Resistance welding is used in various industries to join:

  • Metal components: tubes, sheets, profiles.

  • Steel parts: automotive, household appliances, metal carpentry. 

  • Electrical wires: cables, printed circuit boards.

  • Workpiece positioning: the workpieces to be welded are positioned between two copper alloy electrodes. 

  • Generation of current: an electric current is applied to the welding electrodes.

  • Welding: the resistance of the material generates heat which melts the workpieces.

  • Cooling: the welded parts are cooled to ensure their strength.
