For a professional bodyshop, the right welding equipment has to work around the repair rather than the other way round. Access to the panel, material type, welding position and manufacturer requirements can all affect the choice of equipment. TECNA's range of mobile resistance welding machines is designed to cover these different working conditions, from everyday body repair to demanding industrial applications.
The automotive range includes equipment for stud welding on steel and aluminium, capacitor-discharge systems, spot welders with integrated transformers and cable-operated solutions. Mobile spot welders can be configured with manual or pneumatic welding guns, giving bodyshops the flexibility to select the equipment according to the vehicle, repair procedure and working method.
Where a higher level of process control is required, TECNA offers inverter spot welding technology. Mobile single-phase machines are available with ratings of 8 and 10 kVA at 50% duty cycle, while advanced configurations reach up to 25 kVA at 50% duty cycle for cable-operated systems and up to 12 kVA at 50% duty cycle with transformer-integrated welding guns. Water cooling, digital controls and touch-screen interfaces are available depending on the configuration.
The range can also be equipped with pneumatic X- or C-type welding guns, interchangeable arms and water-cooled single-spot systems. These options allow the equipment to be matched more closely to the geometry of the vehicle and to the requirements of the repair process, particularly where repeatability and controlled welding parameters are important.
For authorised automotive repair networks, selected TECNA spot welders are approved and homologated by major vehicle manufacturers. This is particularly relevant where the welding process must comply with specific manufacturer procedures and technical requirements.
TECNA also brings the same focus on controlled welding processes into industrial production. The E-tech range is developed for end-of-line manufacturing systems and can be customised to suit the layout and requirements of the production line. Configurations can include the TE760 welding control and welding guns capable of delivering forces of up to 610 daN, providing a solution for applications where process consistency, integration and production reliability are essential.
