ARC WELDING INVERTER EQUIPMENT (PRO-I 2800)

SHORT ARC AND DRAWN ARC WELDING EQUIPMENTS

THE INVERTER SOLUTION WITH OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY IN PROFESSIONAL STUD WELDING

The PRO-I 2800 inverter stud welding unit with microprocessor control is a state-of-the-art professional solution designed to ensure excellent welding quality, absolute precision, and maximum operational reliability.

Thanks to modern inverter technology, the unit provides extremely accurate process control, high repeatability of results, and superior arc stability, even with very short welding times and low currents.

With high welding power and a maximum stud diameter of 25 mm, the PRO-I 2800 stands out for top-level performance even in the most demanding industrial applications.

The innovative cooling system allows a high duty cycle, enabling fast and continuous sequences without performance drops, while its significantly lower weight compared to traditional welding units makes it ideal for mobile use on construction sites.

The integrated wide-range electronic power supply (320–495 V) allows operation even under unstable power conditions, such as very long extension cables or generators, ensuring consistent performance in critical conditions; its robust and durable construction makes it perfect for harsh industrial environments.

The PRO-I 2800 is designed for stud welding with ceramic ferrule, welding with shielding gas, and short cycle welding, with or without gas, offering maximum application versatility.

Welding current and time are continuously adjustable, and the unit is equipped with constant current regulation, ensuring uniformity and precision in every operation.

Control is performed via a sturdy push-rotary switch, and all functions are displayed on a large intuitive screen.

Pre-installed welding programs facilitate the selection of correct parameters for each application, with the possibility to store custom programs according to production needs; the modular design also allows later integration of optional functions, offering maximum configuration flexibility.

The integrated welding parameter monitoring system guarantees continuous quality control by detecting any deviations from ideal values and immediately highlighting operational anomalies such as incorrect blowout compensation or gun tilt; by default, parameters of the last 10 welds are stored, while optionally, an advanced memory for up to 16,000 welds with USB interface for data transfer to a PC and full process traceability is available.

An additional advantage is the ability to directly view on the display the values for stud protrusion and lift set on the gun or automatic head, eliminating inaccurate manual measurements and reducing adjustment time.

On request, the unit can be equipped with a protective gas module to support the soldering bath and with a VBZ automatic feeder for feeding the pins and the automatic head.

It is also available in multi-gun version, for using two or four guns with different current and time settings, with automatic detection of the connected gun; alternatively, to connect up to four guns on a single unit, the external PRO-SPLIT adapter is available.

The trolley version with two large ultra-durable wheels and a pull-out telescopic handle is designed to ensure maximum mobility on construction sites and in industrial environments, making the PRO-I 2800 the ideal choice for those seeking high performance, total process control, and maximum efficiency in stud welding in industrial and construction applications.

FAQ and insights

The drawn arc stud welding is a process of union between a metal threaded stud on a metal surface through the use of special equipment that by the welding gun, activates an electric arc which melts the tip of the stud and the surface below creating a weld bath that is contained within a ceramic ferrule.

In the long arc cycle welding the welding stud or pin are welded by an electric discharge that melts the material and the melting bath is contained either in a ceramic ferrule or remains free cooled by an inert gas that is automatically activated inside a protective positioner placed on the gun.

In the short arc cycle welding the electric arc is generated in a time of a few ms, this results in much lower melting material than long arc cycle welding and is mainly used to weld threaded studs up to M8 on thin sheet metal.

The PRO-I 2800 inverter arc welder can weld stud with a diameter (Ø) up to 25 mm, ideal for high-strength industrial applications.
