Modular welding units

In automated manufacturing, a resistance welding unit has to fit the production process, not simply perform the weld. TECNA modular welding units are developed for integration into automated lines, allowing the welding system to be configured around the component geometry, electrode position and assembly requirements.

The modular range covers several mechanical configurations, including dual-point, swing-arm and straight-line welding units. A dual-point arrangement can make two welds simultaneously on opposite sides of a component, helping to shorten assembly cycles. Swing-arm versions provide greater freedom when working with changing geometries, while straight-line units offer controlled electrode movement along a defined vertical axis.

This choice of configuration is particularly useful when the welding equipment has to be incorporated into a dedicated production system. The straight-line models can deliver welding forces of up to 470 daN at 6 bar, providing the controlled electrode pressure required for demanding resistance welding applications.

TECNA units are available with rated power from 25 to 63 kVA at 50% duty cycle. Water-cooled transformers and resin-encapsulated windings are used to support reliable operation in industrial production environments, where the welding equipment may be required to operate repeatedly throughout the production cycle.

The same modular approach allows the equipment to be used across a broad range of manufacturing sectors. TECNA welding units can be integrated into production systems for the automotive industry, domestic appliances, storage and shelving systems, and fabricated metal components. The configuration can be selected according to the component and the required weld positions, rather than forcing different applications into a single machine design.
