TECNA manual portable spot welders (7900-7902-7903)
Portable resistance spot welding solutions for automotive repair, sheet metal fabrication and industrial maintenance. ATS Lamberti supplies TECNA spot welders with technical support, accessories and after-sales assistance.
Whether you are repairing vehicle body panels, carrying out maintenance work or assembling sheet metal components, choosing the right manual spot welder can make a significant difference in both weld quality and productivity. The TECNA 7900, 7902 and 7903 portable spot welders are designed for professional resistance spot welding applications where reliability, ease of use and consistent results are essential. At ATS, we supply these machines together with technical advice, supporting customers in selecting the most suitable model, welding arms and electrodes for their specific application.
Although all three models are based on the same proven resistance welding technology, each one is intended for different operating requirements. Factors such as material thickness, production volume, accessibility of the weld area and duty cycle should all be considered when selecting a spot welder. ATS Lamberti works alongside manufacturers, body repair workshops and maintenance departments to recommend the most appropriate solution for each project.
Choosing between the TECNA 7900, 7902 and 7903 mainly depends on production volume, material thickness, duty cycle and the level of process control required. Selecting the right portable resistance spot welder helps improve weld quality, productivity and long-term operating efficiency.
The TECNA 7900 is a lightweight 2 kVA hand-operated spot welder, particularly well suited to vehicle body repair, automotive repair and general maintenance work. Its compact design allows operators to work comfortably in confined spaces while maintaining excellent control during the welding process.
The machine features a built-in SCR synchronous electronic timer, adjustable from 2 to 65 cycles, allowing accurate control of weld duration. A compensation circuit starts the timer only when sufficient welding current is detected, helping to produce reliable spot welds even on oxidised steel, painted surfaces or black sheet metal. This system improves process consistency while reducing the likelihood of incomplete welds.
Electrode force can be adjusted using a calibrated daN scale, enabling operators to match the clamping pressure to the material being welded. Additional arm couplings provide increased opening between the welding arms, improving access to difficult areas and more complex workpieces. The transformer is manufactured with durable Class F insulation and tested at 4,000 V, ensuring dependable long-term performance. The welder is supplied with 125 mm arms and can be equipped with a wide range of optional arms and electrodes.
The TECNA 7902 offers 2.5 kVA of power and builds on the capabilities of the 7900 by introducing phase-shift current control. This feature provides more accurate regulation of welding current, making it particularly suitable for applications involving thin sheet metal, stainless steel, small diameter rods and other materials requiring precise heat input.
Better control of the welding current helps minimise distortion, reduces the risk of overheating and improves weld quality on demanding materials. For manufacturers working with different material grades, this additional level of control provides greater process consistency and reduces the need for rework. The machine also incorporates power factor (cos φ) control, contributing to efficient electrical performance during operation. Like the 7900, it includes adjustable electrode force, Class F insulated transformer construction and compatibility with a broad selection of welding arms and electrodes. A P version with pulsation weld time control is also available for applications requiring additional process flexibility.
Designed for higher duty cycles and continuous production environments, the TECNA 7903 is the preferred choice. This 6 kVA water-cooled portable spot welder is developed for demanding applications such as automotive body repair, light manufacturing and industrial maintenance facilities. The complete water-cooling system helps maintain stable operating temperatures during prolonged use, extending component life and supporting consistent welding performance throughout the working day.
The 7903 can be supplied with optional TECNA 7512, 7513, 7514 and 7515 welding arms, allowing the machine to be configured for a wide variety of production requirements. It combines the same SCR electronic timer, current compensation circuit, phase-shift current control and power factor management found on the 7902, giving operators precise control over every welding cycle. Adjustable electrode force, Class F transformer insulation, 4,000 V testing and the optional pulsation control version complete a specification designed for reliable, repeatable resistance spot welding.
The TECNA 7900 Series portable spot welders are widely used for vehicle body repair, automotive repair, sheet metal fabrication, industrial maintenance, light manufacturing, steel component assembly and general resistance spot welding applications. Thanks to the availability of different welding arms, electrodes and accessories, each machine can be configured to suit the geometry of the workpiece and the requirements of the production process.
ATS Lamberti supplies more than just equipment. We support customers throughout the selection process, helping them evaluate materials, sheet thicknesses, production volumes and operating conditions to identify the most suitable resistance spot welding solution. Alongside the supply of TECNA manual spot welders, we provide technical consultancy, genuine spare parts, accessories, after-sales support and specialist assistance, ensuring every customer receives a solution that delivers reliable performance and long-term value.
